CNC Machinist / Programmer (Rotational Shift Pattern)

£36,000 - £38,000 Plus Pension, Generous Holiday, BMW Car Scheme (after 6 months)
BMW Plant Hams Hall is an integral part of BMW Group's global engine production network, manufacturing fuel efficient, low emission engines for BMW and MINI vehicles sold around the world. They are currently investing in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Hams Hall, preparing for the production of the next generation of BMW engines.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of experienced specialists working a shift rotation pattern which involves one week of 6.00-13.45 Mon-Fri, one week of 13.45 – 20.45 – Mon-Thurs and 13:45 – 22.30 on Friday and a final week of 20:45 – 06.00 – Mon-Thurs. You will have the chance to push the limits of modern manufacturing and work with cutting edge technology.
As a CNC Machinist / Programmer with skills in milling , you'll be responsible for running a cell of hi-tech machining centres and maintaining a whole new level of accuracy.
Operating 5 and 6 axis machinery, you will be tasked with maintaining quality requirements and delivering an optimised process which achieves the required volume.
Responsible for volume delivery, troubleshooting and making programme changes, as a CNC Machinist / Programmer, you will also undertake NC offsets related to quality reports.
This is a great opening in which to become a skilled expert within your area and the ‘go-to’ specialist within your team.
What you'll need:
- Knowledge of CNC, NC programmes, process drawings, and the ability to relate them to quality reports
- A good understanding of NC programming , ideally including Siemens programming and controls
- An automotive background, ideally involving a highly automated, high volume, manufacturing environment
- Expertise in machining processes
- The confidence to take the lead in making quality decisions
- The ability to co-ordinate physical machine adjustments to ensure conformity of production
- An NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a manufacturing and/or engineering discipline
- A four year apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
You will receive a highly competitive package ranging between £36,000 and £38,000 depending on experience, with additional benefits including a competitive pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement and paid overtime. You will also have the opportunity to join the prestigious BMW car scheme.
