An exciting opportunity has arisen within our client's Energy from Waste team for a Head of ERF Engineering & Maintenance, to ensure the consistent, appropriate and best practice policies, procedures and methods are delivered throughout the maintenance and capital replacement programmes of their national network of ERFs.

This crucial role will advise and assist local ERF Engineering Teams in the management of all aspects of planned, predictive and reactive maintenance, whilst ensuring our client's facilities comply with appropriate legislation and Contractual requirements.

 

Our client is looking for someone with an extensive and proven knowledge of the waste industry, including relevant legislations, with a thorough working knowledge of quality systems, Asset Management principles and registration schemes (e.g. ISO 55000 [was PAS 55]).

 

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, or hold an appropriate formal business qualification, together with extensive experience in providing leadership and guidance within a large department or region at senior level.

 

A Full Driving Licence is essential to the role.

 

Duties include, but not limited to:

 

  • Monitoring, advising, assisting and directing the local ERF Engineering Managers in the maintenance of the company's network of ERFs as specified by suppliers’ recommendations, maximising production and minimising breakdowns.
  • Ensuring that the programme of planned shutdowns across the fleet is co-ordinated and internal and external resources are fully optimised, minimising any impact on energy supply contracts.
  • Assisting as necessary in specifying and negotiating best prices for the purchase of further equipment or services, overseeing major service contracts, ensuring consistency across their ERF network.
  • Acting as a main point of contact for our client's Group Asset Management team, representing the Energy from Waste business as necessary in the setting, implementing and monitoring of Group-wide policies and procedures.
  • Skills / Experience:

     

  • Extensive people management experience within a large department/region at senior level.
  • Educated to degree level and/or with an appropriate formal business qualification.
  • Best practice in Asset Management principles, including knowledge of ISO 55000 (was PAS 55).
  • Experience in mechanical engineering and maintenance of process industry or power plants.
  • Extensive and proven knowledge of the waste industry, including relevant legislation.
  • A Full Driving Licence is essential to the role.
