IT Developer

Our Client, Snow & Rock, is the leading specialist outdoor retailer in the UK, and they are currently seeking an IT Developer to join their team.  The Group runs three retail fascias, Snow & Rock (23 stores nationwide), Cycle Surgery (32 stores nationwide) & Runners Need (33 stores Nationwide). 

Reporting to the IT Director, the IT Developer, will be responsible for providing 2^nd line (and occasionally 1^st line) support to end users of our bespoke software system. 


IT Developer Key Responsibilities:-    

- Enhance the existing system based on further development plans and assist the team in programming, testing and supporting current and future modules

- Produce and manage both end user and technical documentation relating to the system

Specific Technical Skills:-  

- .Net and T-SQL programming, query tuning and optimization experience is essential

- Basic support knowledge of networking is desirable

- 2 - 3 years .NET programming experience (Win & Web) [3.5 & on]

- VB.NET / ASP.NET

- Data Access/Business Layers on .NET architecture

- T-SQL, SSIS (SQL Server 2008 R2 & on)

- SQL Programming, Query tuning & optimization experience required

- SQL Database management skills preferred but not essential

- HTML/DHTML, JavaScript

- IIS / Web Services

- Crystal Reports

- 2^nd line support experience in a distributed environment 

 
Personal Qualities:-

- Self-starter with excellent communication skills

- Passionate team player but able to work on own initiative as required

- Structured and organized in your approach to deliver projects on time

- Flexible approach to working conditions as travel to locations around the UK on occasions may be required (so a clean, valid UK diving license is required)

- The nature of this role also involves being on call two weekends a month
