The Client

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with an established business, designing and developing new technology for an exciting, emerging market. They are currently looking for a Software Engineer to play an important role in the development of new products.

The Role
As part of new product developments they need a Software Engineer with good experience of developing software (C and autocoding from matlab / simulink) for relatively complex safety critical automotive products. This person will be responsible for developing production software to ISO26262 quality standard. 

Additionally, the individual will:

1. To develop software using a mixture of C directly and autocoding to C via matlab / simulink.
2. To work within the team to ensure that the final product meets ISO26262 specifications.
3. To be actively involved in selecting key parts (e.g. microprocessor) and key software (e.g. compilers, OS, tools, etc).
4. To take ownership of and deliver key work packages during the product development.
5. Mentoring, coaching or supervising other less experienced software engineers.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.


The Candidate
The successful candidate is likely to be educated to degree level in Software Engineering or a related technical engineering specialty with experience in software development, including several years in automotive safety critical systems development (e.g. with an automotive OEM or tier 1/2/3 supplier). Additional experience should include MISRA-C, OSEK, AUTOSAR, autocoding for production software using Matlab / Simulink as well as experience of developing for 32 bit automotive spec microprocessors and implementing CAN and related protocols for diagnostics/ OBD.
