Salary: £15,170 - £17,274 pro-rata (actual salary approx £8,815 - £10,038)

Average of 21.5 hours per week over a 2 week shift rota and will include early mornings, evenings and weekend work

This role would be ideal for you if you are a customer focused individual with a strong interest and experience in the leisure industry. The purpose is to provide a friendly and efficient sports centre reception service to members of staff, the general public, students and employers.

The Sports Centre is a busy environment as it serves the College, the local community and the general public.

The post holder will occupy a crucial position as the initial point of contact for all customers. Duties will include dealing with customer enquiries and bookings, handling cash, operating the telephone placing outgoing calls and redirecting incoming calls. Your knowledge of the Sports Centre will enable you to sell the activities of the Sports Centre to enquirers as well as delivering gym inductions, exercise classes and personal programmes to clients.

To be successful, you will have a good standard of general education and previous experience of working within a similar environment with a strong emphasis of customer service. You will be computer literate, ideally familiar with Microsoft Outlook and experience of Legend Management software would be an advantage. Your personal qualities will include your excellent communication and inter-personal skills along with your confidence to deal with people in a polite but assertive manner. Ideally you will also have experience of sales techniques and an interest in the leisure industry. You will hold or be willing to work towards a level 2 fitness qualifications and first aid at work to enable you to offer gym inductions, exercise classes and personal programmes.
