Project worker for Middlesbrough area @ £22K per year pro rata 3 days pw

Do you want to be part of an exciting new project in the North East which helps to change the lives of families raising a relative’s child, often in extremely difficult circumstances? National charities Grandparents Plus, Family Lives and the Family and Childcare Trust have joined forces to deliver the Relative Experience Project. Targeted at those aged over 50, we provide trained peer befriending support for grandparents and family carers who are raising children who cannot live with their parents. The project is based in North Shields and we are now looking to extend the work into the Middlesbrough area and neighbouring local authorities in the South of the region. The project has secured funding from the Big Lottery Fund Silver Dreams Fund until March 2017.

We are looking for an experienced project worker to join our small team, working from home and covering the Middlesbrough area . The role can be worked flexibly, by agreement and we offer 30 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata).

The post is offered on a fixed term contract, renewable after 18 months to March 2017. It is our expectation that we would want to secure repeat funding at the end of this period to continue the work.
