Senior Employer Relations Manager - Brighton - 9 month fixed-term contract

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Capita's core businesses on an interim contract. In September 2011 Capita was awarded a contract by The Pensions Regulator to deliver the employer compliance regime to support the new legislation surrounding Auto Enrolment (AE), with a specific responsibility for providing direct-to-employer communications and customer service support to the programme. The Capita Communications Team, Embedded at The Pensions Regulator, is responsible for supporting the rollout of Automatic Enrolment (AE) Workplace Pensions among all UK employers.

Based in central Brighton, Capita require a Senior Employer Relations Manager to demonstrate experience and impact of managing strategic relationships with national/regional employer trade organisations as well as sector-based trade bodies working on behalf of employers in specific industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish, manage and develop relationships with strategic and tactical employer representative bodies
  • To deliver a programme of AE products and content relevant to these bodies and their memberships
  • To monitor the deployment of this programme and make recommendations for future improvements
  • Helping to shape and to manage the overall strategy for relationship management among employer representative (trade) bodies
  • Commissioning the development and delivery of campaign collateral (eg brochures, web pages, advertorials), and planning and delivering joint events and other marketing activities aimed at wide and efficient delivery of automatic enrolment messages among partner organisations and their memberships
  • Account management of specific employer trade organisations (national/regional and those representing strategic employer sectors)
  • Presenting the detail of automatic enrolment employer duties to employer trade organisations, securing their buy-in to this major national change programme
  • Quarterly delivery plans and related performance reports
  • To develop product propositions with employer bodies to optimise engagement with their memberships
  • Line management of a Product Development Executive
  • To coordinate this activity with any appointed third party agencies who also manage key relationships with agreed trade bodies and in particular to ensure that the activities undertaken by the post-holder complement the work of any appointed third party agencies

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience working with and/or for employer trade organisations in the UK
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of complex change programmes in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Commercial or similar experience - eg negotiating delivery agreements with partner organisations and overseeing successful delivery of partner activities
  • Highly developed relationship management/account management skills and experience, ideally practised within a high profile national programme
  • First-class writing skills and a good level of numeracy
  • Top-rate organisational skills, including line management, capable of keeping on top of multiple strategic and tactical relationships, including tracking their impact through evidence and evaluation

We are seeking a candidate knowledgeable in CRM management to oversee the execution of a complex and high-volume programme of direct marketing campaigns to employers in support of the AE rollout.

Demonstrable experience of CRM management, direct marketing and Direct mail (white mail and email campaigns) are essential. Experience gained in high profile, complex stakeholder environments and those who also have previous experience of working in Financial Services or a similar field would be highly advantageous.
