Position: Operations Monitoring Analyst - immediate opportunities for temporary 3 month contract with possibilities of extension
Location: West Bromwich
Salary: £19,000 including shift allowance
We are recruiting a monitoring team on behalf of our client, one of the world’s leading telecoms & retail systems providers. The role is an Operations Monitoring Analyst and will be initially on a temporary 3 month contract basis and in the main involve evening, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts. These junior roles are based in our client’s offices in West Bromwich and all candidates must be able to commute daily. This is a great opportunity to gain IT experience within a world-class company.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Monitoring Analyst will be responsible for continuity of service through delivering quality operations monitoring and 1st line triage support in a high-tech retail support environment. They will be responsible for responding to proactive monitoring alerts either via an automated monitoring dashboard or through following a monitoring process to determine success/ failure of a job. The response will be in the form of 1st level triage and will determine whether resolution is possible or further escalation is required into the 2nd level team. Full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
The normal working week is 37.5 hours over 7 days per week on a 24/7 shift rota covering mainly evenings, nights, weekends and includes bank holidays. Candidates should advise any restrictions to working hours on application.

Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to automated proactive alerts, and determine the suitable resolver
- Carry out scripted monitoring activities and manage through to appropriate resolver in accordance with the proactive monitoring schedule
- Provide First Level triage support to a specific group of clients and/or solutions.
- Call out any processes that are felt to be not efficient, or no longer fit for purpose.
- Escalate and work with 2nd line where appropriate to ensure resolution of proactive issues as quickly as possible.
- Escalate issues to the Operations Manager where Proactive monitoring is impacted or predefined monitoring response timeframes are exceeded.
- Contribute to the 24/7 team rota.
