Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant

An inspiring boutique food shop, cafe and catering company in Thame, Oxfordshire, passionate about great food, customer service and its people, is looking for an enthusiastic, versatile and hard-working Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant.

With standards that are second to none, you will need to demonstrate a genuine interest in great food and hospitality, a professional, positive attitude and due diligence in all aspects of food hygiene, health and safety.

You will be working across all sections, producing a range of freshly prepared dishes, from sandwich platters, savoury pastries and cakes to innovative salads, oven ready meals and canapés. You will also assist with the preparation of food for catered events, including weddings, themed parties and private dining.

Key Responsibilities:

- Producing a range of freshly prepared dishes
- Assisting your colleagues with the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen
- Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety

Requirements:

- A genuine interest in great food, hospitality and customer service
- A keen desire to learn and develop
- A 'can do', driven and pro-active attitude, with a commitment to excellence
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery, or a willingness to work towards

This position is commutable from Aylesbury, Oxford, Wheatley, Tetsworth, Chinnor, Bicester, Haddenham and Cuddington.
