Our client is recognised as an Ofsted Outstanding provider, following inspection in October 2013. Ofsted rated the Overall effectiveness of their provision, along with Outcomes for learners, Quality of teaching, learning and assessment and Effectiveness of leadership and management as Outstanding. In addition, the Quality Assurance Agency, which independently reports on the quality and standards of degree provision, awarded the College more commendations than any other university or Higher Education establishment in the UK to date when it published its report in July 2013.
We are now looking to recruit a Lecturer in Society, Health & Childhood to work as and when required; hours are to be offered on a fixed term, part time basis.
As a Lecturer, you will assist in the development and delivery of the managed learning of students; assisting in the development and delivery of related programmes.
Whilst being fully conversant with course regulations and specifications for the defined area thus ensuring conformity and best practice, you will assist with securing quality improvement within the School as well as assisting with monitoring student recruitment, retention and achievement and taking remedial action where necessary.
In order to be successful in this position, it is essential that you will a recognised teaching qualification (or will be willing to commence within 2 years of appointment) and will hold GCSE at grade C or above in English and Maths (or be willing to obtain within 2 years of appointment). You should also possess a good Degree in Health & Social Care, Working with Young People, Early Childhood Studies or Teaching & Learning Support, or related subjects. A relevant Masters level qualification would be beneficial, however this is not essential.
With experience of working in the Health & Social Care sector, you will be able to respond to a range of learning styles and will have the ability to communicate in all forms clearly, succinctly, and in a timely manner. In addition, you will have the ability to develop learning resources to support the curriculum and will be able to demonstrate skills in meeting a range of targets related to College priorities e.g. recruitment, retention and attendance etc.
