Trade Floor Support Analyst - Fidessa

Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) encompasses Macquarie's institutional stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance activities. MSG utilises its skills in research and risk management to develop equity-based financial solutions and services for clients globally. The Macquarie Securities IT Division operates as a core part of the business and is considered to be part of the front line, developing and supporting leading technology platforms which are critical to the Group's success.

We currently have an excellent role for a trading support analyst to join our technology team based in London. Operating as a core part of the business and considered to be part of the front line, you will work on leading technology platforms which are critical to the group's success. You will be co-located with the business in a fast paced and changing environment.

In this role you will provide effective first and second level support for MSG applications, both in-house and vendor-supplied. You will be part of an established application support desk in London; and collectively with other support desks in EMEA. You will escalate problems to and follow up with the development teams based in Sydney, London and New York

Key Responsibilities:

Ongoing application support of the Fidessa platform, used for Cash Equity Trading in North America, EMEA and Asia Pac.

Establishing strong relationships with the business and other technical stakeholders to discuss systems issues and changes.

Work with business analysts and testing teams on requirements and testing scenarios.

Investigate, record and resolve 1st & 2nd line production support issues and implement preventative measures post incident.

Manage production and test environments.

Operational development to streamline processes and mitigate risk.

Understand and manage any underlying infrastructure changes.

Working with development teams and vendors to ensure successful release of system upgrades and ensure high level of quality assurance in the production environment.

Communication and escalation of issues to other members of the team in NY, London, Sydney, Manila and Hong Kong.

Identifying areas for improvement and translating initiatives into action plans.

Defect Tracking with development team and vendors - Recording and follow-up.

Ideally you will have:

Sound technical experience in fast paced working environments (ideally gained from working in cash equities).

Comfortable working in a live market trading environment.

The ability to work effectively within local and distributed teams.

Good written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely with the business.

Well developed diagnostic and analytic skills with proven problem solving experience.

The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, providing timely and accurate solutions to numerous business technology needs.

Understanding of a broad set of technologies and environments and an ability to communicate across different levels within the organisation.

The ability to adapt to new circumstances and thrive in a constantly changing environment.

Self-starter capable of working as individual contributor with demanding clients.

Experience in developing or managing trading/financial services technology including trading systems applications, trade feeds, trade flow life cycle, etc.

Technical Expectations:

Expertise in Fidessa Trading Platform (or similar OMS) & Multi-Market access required.

ITIL knowledge - Incident, Change, Problem, Capacity, BCM management.

Experience with IT Service Management tools eg Remedy, ITRS, Control M, JIRA or similar.

Knowledge of Unix, Windows and Windows Server environments.

Understanding of client electronic onboarding process and downstream broker monitoring.

Sound knowledge of financial market and products.

Solid understanding of FIX.

Some knowledge of Relational databases (Sybase preferred) and UNIX.

DMA and ALGO experience preferred.

Knowledge of advanced trading tools useful - PAIRS/BEAM (PT solution).
