The Infrastructure Development Engineers' role is predominately project focused. You will spend days or weeks with specific customers of ours in the deployment and build of Infrastructure, Servers and desktops.

The individual will exercise attained technical skills, previous work experience and collaborate with DS Technical Infrastructure as a whole, in the design, proposal, implementation and delivery of desktop tools, products and services throughout a given networked infrastructure. The individual will possess an excellent ability in written and verbal communication with both working colleagues and the user base. The individual will keep abreast of latest technologies, be able to comprehend suitable methodologies and solutions, of which these in turn, will be implemented by them, whilst reflecting quality assurance standards.

Reporting to the Solutions Delivery manager you should possess the following essential skills:

. Windows 2003/2008 Server - Excellent skills in the setup, configuration, administration and technical support of key Wintel systems.
- VMware experience
. Development of builds, OS deployment,
.Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server - Excellent skills in the setup, configuration, administration and technical support of key Wintel systems.
.Windows 2000/XP Professional/Windows 7 - Development of builds, large scale OS deployment, centralised application/printer deployment. Good support skills.
.Windows 2000/2003/2008 Active Directory - AD design, implementation and support. Good knowledge of Group Policy including application and printer deployment.
.Exchange 2000/2003/2008/2010 - Setup, configuration and support
.Strong AD skills, including Group Policy and supporting tools such as DFS, DHCP,DNS
.Knowledge of software deployment tools, namely AD, LANDesk and SCCM.
.Understanding of Scripting/application creation using VB 2008
.Hardware - Experience of variety of hardware such as Compaq/HP, IBM and Dell hardware, utilising CIM for centralised Hardware fault finding on Compaq/HP systems.
.Firm understanding of business requirements
.Desktop Deployment - Utilising tools such as Ghost, RIS LANDesk and SCCM. Creation of images for large scale rollout. Centralised application deployment via AD.
.Networking - Good understanding of the fundamentals of Firewalls, LANs and WANs. Ability to derive and document requirements for implementation.
.Experience of McAffee Epo and Sophos AV
.Server Backup Management - Recovery Software - Veritas Backup Exec/Arcserve
.Knowledge of best practices
.Excellent organisational skills
.At least 3 years experience in a fast paced, dynamic IT environment
.Experienced in using Microsoft Office Applications
.A proven track record of taking project specific activities from start to finish
.Good interpersonal skills and effective communication, internally and externally
.Good customer care skills
.Effective problem resolution skills
.Ability to produce high quality documentation for use internally and externally
.Ability to achieve targets as agreed by your manager
.Willingness to work flexibly and at other locations as and when required
