*Female Support Workers

We are currently recruiting a team of full time *female support workers, previous experience working with children would be helpful, *(Sex Discrimination Act section 7 (2) applicable) needed to work with an 13yr old girl with a brain injury living in Erdington, Birmingham. She needs assistance with all activities of daily living and requires waking night care 7 days a week including evening care after school plus day support on weekends.

It is expected that the successful applicants will work a combination of night, evening and weekend shifts.
Applicants must be willing to work in the client’s family home under the direction of her parents and case manager. A team leader will be appointed.

Applicants need to be responsible, reliable, highly motivated, understanding, enthusiastic and patient. Good written and verbal communication skills to include basic IT skills are essential. Previous experience of working as a carer is essential and knowledge of brain injury is desirable as is the ability to speak Bengali or Urdu.

Rates of pay are £10.50 per hour weekdays and £12.50 per hour at weekend for the right applicant to reflect skills required.

You would need to work within a structured support programme. A full clean driving licence is needed. All posts are subject to DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
