Regional Manager

We are one of the UK’s best kept retailing success stories, after being founded in 1969 we now have over 195 stores throughout the country, and we continue to expand by opening up to 15 stores every year. We are now recruiting for a Regional Manager for our North Region, which is integral to the ongoing success and continued growth of the Company. Reporting into the Retail Director, you will

lead and develop a team of 6 Area Managers to deliver operational performance excellence aligned to the Retail business plan and maximise regional sales and contribution.

You will be a successful retailer, with a proven track record in growing and leading high performing teams, and with experience in multi-site working – and managing a team of multi-site managers,

The key responsibilities are as follows:

People/Leadership

  • Ensure development needs and succession & manpower plans are actively managed to maximise people capability, performance and the talent pipeline across all people in your remit
  • Build and develop a team of high performing Area Managers who in turn build a team of high performing managers, through mentoring, coaching and performance management
  • Lead and inspire your people to deliver high service levels, and create a culture of service; transparency and collaboration
  • Ensures that duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood.

 Results

  • Plan and manage P&L budget and ensure that sales, cost and contribution targets are met or exceeded through the management of the Area Managers.
  • Deliver operational performance excellence aligned to the Retail  business plan through the Area Managers

 Service

  • Continually review & improve operations and processes to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction across all stores and teams in your remit.

 Process/Operations

  • Ensure excellent standards are delivered in all areas of operational activity
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to suggest improvement and changes to products and/or processes, then trial and implement changes as agreed ensuring the delivery of operational excellence.
  • Continual review of management tools, MI and reporting structures. Deliver proposals for future requirements to measure and drive performance, action and then carry out ongoing evaluation of fit

 Strategy

  • Lead on identifying opportunities, developing business initiatives and seeing through to successful implementation agreed projects to deliver measurable business / operational benefits
