A well-established family run business in Sandbach requires a motivated and skilled individual to operate in their workshops and for their clients across the country, producing and installing high quality traditional greenhouses and glasshouses.

Candidates should have good joinery and metalwork skills along with an eye for detail and the flexibility to work some unusual hours.

The company is one of very few who make high quality traditional greenhouses that replicate the period buildings from over 100 years ago. Their order book contains a mixture of standard buildings and bespoke structures to be installed across the UK and Europe for keen gardeners, and land owners. Each building is produced by hand in their Cheshire workshops before being delivered and installed by their own team. The expanding business is looking for new talent to help in the production and installation of these buildings.

Operations involve the manufacture of the main cedar framework for their greenhouses along with the preparation of aluminium extrusions and sub-assemblies. All timber framework is prepared and painted in-house before going on site. Each job is delivered to clients by the company’s own transport and fitted by the same people who make it ensuring quality and consistency right through to the finished product.

Main duties:

  • Production of timber panels and framework including cutting, jointing, drilling, assembly
  • Pre-coating preparation of timber panels – filling, sanding etc.
  • Production of aluminium parts including cutting, drilling and other processes
  • General workshop duties – taking deliveries, checking stock, tidying up etc.
  • Collection and delivery of parts and materials to/from other local suppliers
  • Loading and preparation of tools and materials for site
  • Working outside and across the country, sometimes working away for a few days at a time
