An Embedded Software Contractor is urgently needed for a position based in the South of the UK, near London that requires experience in: - Strong C++ knowledge
- Real time embedded Systems
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python or Perl
- Knowledge of DVB, IPTV, Digital TV, ATSC or IP technology would be very beneficial
- Perforce and GIT is essential
IC Software has a long-standing important client that is urgently looking for an Embedded Software engineer for a 3 month contract. The role would be to start as soon as possible and would be for on site work in the South of the UK near London.
The responsibilities of the role include; Management of the source code base; Source code control and integration of the interactive TV technologies; Knowledge of C++, Perforce and Git is essential; Verification of the interactive environment on the platform, identifying and rectifying issues. Performing self verification and interfacing with QA teams where necessary; Resolution of design and implementation issues, working with error tracking systems and knowledge boards for information; Strong knowledge of C++ and HTML, JavaScript and CSS will be required for HbbTV work.
As a result, the following experience is required: Experience of real-time and/or embedded software development on medium-to-large scale projects; C++ for embedded multi-tasking systems; source control management, including tools such as Perforce and Git. The following experience would be desirable but not essential: JavaScript, HTML-5, CSS; DVB digital television standards; Linux (or other Unix-like) programming experience; IPTV and or related IP technology.
