Machine Technician – Weekday  Oxford, Oxfordshire  £Excellent Plus Company Car, Pension Scheme  MINI Plant Oxford celebrated 100 years of car-making in 2013 and remains at the heart of the MINI manufacturing network. It is one of the most modern and technically-advanced car plants in the world.  Due to continued growth and success, an excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Machine Technician to join their team on the weekday shift.  If you’re a qualified mechanical or electrical engineer from an operational background, this is a superb opportunity to develop your career with an exciting and vibrant company that’s changing the face of roads.  As a Machine Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining all equipment within the plant and ensuring that process parameters are met.  Monitoring all plant and equipment, you’ll utilise your mechanical and electrical expertise to carry out fault elimination and equipment optimisation activities to increase technical availability. You’ll monitor all facility systems, input data on to the appropriate database and analyse data to identify trends and remedial actions.  Updating the maintenance IT system upon completion of activities, you’ll deliver planned maintenance and provide complex design solutions to simple PLC mods, tooling or mechanical problems. Additionally, you’ll build effective customer and supplier relationships, as well as ordering and re-ordering spares within the local area.  Your other duties will include:  - Leading small project activities  - Training and supporting all team members  - Ensuring a smooth shift changeover at all times  To be considered for this role, you must have:  - General mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills with evidence of decision making and significant experience gained within an operational environment  - A recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ 3, BTEC or other appropriate qualification  As a Machine Technician, you must be proactive and self-motivated with great communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.  To apply for the role of Machine Technician (Weekday Shift), please apply via the button shown.  This vacancy is being advertised by Web Recruit Ltd.
