Due to the growth of the department our client is looking to appoint a manager to oversee the production department.
Key responsibilities:
Management of team
- Personnel management setting objectives
- Resource planning and training
- Dealing performance management issues
- Motivating staff to work to deadlines
- Driving efficiency and improvements through team leaders
Manufacturing operations management
- Maintenance of effective production plan that meets customer and business needs
- Monitoring material stock levels to allow production plan to be implemented
- Provision of timely production information
- Management of quality documentation and records in adherence to ISO 9001
Purchasing and budget management
- Effective budget forecasting and reporting
- Accurate component needs forecasting and timely placement of purchase orders
- Regular reviews of supplier performance and pricing
Person Specification
- Previous experience of working within a production environment
- Strong people management skills with an understanding of dealing with people of all levels.
- Hands on leader with the ability drive efficiency
- Excellent coaching and training skills
- Confident communicating with a wide cross-section of people both within the business and within the client base - excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Reliable and discreet when dealing with confidential information.
- Remains calm and level headed in pressurised situations
- A conscientious, tenacious and self-reliant individual who is results orientated and enjoys seeing tasks through to completion.
- Knowledge of Quality procedures (ISO 9001)
- Computer literate in MS office and numerate
