They now have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Innovation and Technology to join them where you will lead and manage the Group ICT, Learning Resources Centres and Management Information Systems in order to ensure that the strategy for increased use of technology is enabled for delivery, with appropriate investment in the infrastructure and the learning resources centres. Providing leadership and management across the Group, you will work in conjunction with the Deputy Chief Executive to oversee the development and implementation of the Group eLearning strategy.
Within the Director role, you will support the Group’s Principals through the provision of an appropriate infrastructure and technology base which supports the development of programmes to be delivered online. Making proposals and recommendations for investment which supports the implementation of the eLearning Strategy you will manage the ICT function, ensuring the capital infrastructure is capable of supporting this eLearning strategy.
Meeting the growing demands for distance learning routes from curriculum teams, you will support the development of an ICT infrastructure, whilst leading the development of the Learning Resources Centres in order to provide a learning environment which is capable of supporting independent study. Supporting the development of academic staff in understanding the fundamentals of E-Learning and blended learning, you will lead the implementation and continual improvement of these in order to deliver a high quality provision that has a measurable impact on teaching, learning and assessment.
They are looking for someone who has previously worked in a matrix management environment, developing and implementing strategy, with experience of supporting the development of online learning programmes. Qualified to a Bachelors level in ICT or a related field, you will have knowledge of current and emerging technologies which support learning both wholly online and in blended learning forms. With experience of delivering shared service provision in complex organisations, you will ideally have knowledge of contemporary learning theories in the technological context and a successful track record of influencing key stakeholders teams to achieve success.
The role requires someone with the ability to communicate complex information in an accessible manner. With a strong leadership manner, you will be able to motivate others, and have good organisational and communication skills. Due to the nature of the role, a level of flexibility is essential as travel between the Group’s sites is required.
