Places for People have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Officer to join their team on a fixed term basis. This position is based in Newcastle and they are offering a competitive salary of c£18k – c£21k p.a. + benefits.

Places for People Homes is our property and neighbourhood management arm which is responsible for the majority of our homes across England and Wales.

About the Marketing Officer job

Your role will be primarily to assist in the co-ordination, delivery and promotion of the North East sheltered scheme marketing initiative, within the remit of the Regional Operations Manager. 

As our Marketing Officer you will use a range of approaches to let vacant sheltered housing units that would otherwise be empty. To achieve this you will be expected to proactively devise a range of initiatives to publicise the work of the sheltered schemes, attract new customers to visit the schemes, with the aim of increasing customer occupancy.

A key part of this role will be to arrange, alongside sheltered schemes staff, relevant visits to a range of potential agencies that could refer applicants to the sheltered housing schemes.

This is a fixed term role expected to last for 5 months but could lead to further opportunities.

A current driving licence or access to a means of mobility support is essential.

The ideal Marketing Officer will have previous experience in a marketing related role or similar; where you have had to increase the attraction of either a place or product. Knowledge of using different marketing techniques and materials to attract new customers will be required. Having a well organised and innovative style coupled with good I.T. skills, in particular, Microsoft Office will be the key to success. An understanding of social housing in particular older people’s housing would be desirable but not essential.
