We are looking for SQL Server DBA to join our team based in Doncaster.

The SQL Server DBA will work with customers as well as other team members in the scope, design, development and implementation of new systems in response to project requests. The SQL Server DBA will be required to plan and implement upgrades to existing systems in accordance with corporate Change Management process. You will also be required to provide consultation and technical expertise regarding SQL Server databases, database management tools, access methods, and vendor-provided database management software. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to further develop their skills and join at a time of exciting change within Thales.

Key Tasks

Develop logical and physical database designs.
Design and implement data manipulation processes.
Install, configure, test and maintain SQL Server Databases and tools.
Manage database security, including integrity, backup, recovery, access, and changes.
Monitor use, and develop and deploy performance tuning methods.
Develop and document database administration strategies and tools.
Develop and deploy backup and recovery methods.
Manage Change Control for instance management and patch application.
Assist with technical problem resolution.
Interface with and offer technical support to data analysts and modellers, data administrators, application developers, technical support organizations, computing architects and product vendors.
Travel to UK sites to assist with project delivery.
Contribute to Client Architectural standards.
Advise and guide users/clients with utilizing SQL Server best-practices'.
Assist in providing out-of-hours support for clients, sometimes at short notice.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

A broad knowledge of information technology topics (eg, data architecture, data replication and warehousing, information access methods, database connectivity, performance monitoring and tuning,
operating system administration.
Formal Qualification and completion of training courses relating to Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience in Installation, administration, tuning (SQL and instance), patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in timely cloning, patching, and maintenance of multiple instances.
Ability to design and deploy backup and recovery methods.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems involving all levels of the technology stack.
Experience in the implementation, configuration and support of SSRS.
Experience in the development, deployment and support of Reports from products such as SSRS.
Experience in the design, development and maintenance of SSIS packages
Experience with the support of DTS packages.
Ability to write complex T-SQL
Be Customer focused, acting as an ambassador for IS when communicating with the Customer.

Be able to multi-task on a variety of tasks, and prioritise workload.
