An exciting opportunity has recently arisen to join our client's team in the area of Southampton as a Support Worker.

They have rapidly become a leading care provider supporting adults with learning disabilities to live independent lifestyles within their own homes. Care and support is designed on an individual basis to meet the needs of the Service User and to promote their independence.

They have various contracts available from Part Time to Full Time and Bank contracts (work as and when required) and Waking Night vacancies. They are also looking for Peripatetic Support Workers, maybe that's you? Someone who like a change, or would like to get a lot of variety and different experiences in their work by moving within projects.

There are also vacancies in the Gosport / Fareham areas which require experienced Support Workers who are looking for a new or perhaps their next challenge.

The main function of the Support Worker is to protect, promote and respect the rights of service users to lead an independent lifestyle of their own choosing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Following an agreed plan of care and support for the individual service user.
• Involving and encouraging service users to participate in all aspects of the running of their home.
• To assist in the development and promotion of a variety of activities for the service user and to support the service user in accessing community services to meet their needs.

Essential Candidate Specifications:

• Experience of working in a care or support role. Please note people with voluntary or personal experience will be considered.
• A passion for providing a high level of care and support to adults with learning disabilities.

Desirable Candidate Specifications:

• NVQ Level 2/3/4 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities.
• Experience of working with individuals with Dementia / Challenging Behaviour.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
