Business Analyst - International/ Logistics/ Imports & Exports

We currently have an exciting opportunity to become a Business Analyst, based within the Information Systems team within Debenhams.

Job Role:

As a Business Analyst you will be aligned to specific business units and be an expert in their solutions and capabilities in order to analyse, model and challenge requirements with your customers to meet the needs of the business units. You will:

Document and analyse the needs of the business to achieve valid organisational goals
Underpin the analysis with a robust understanding of the current business situation
Define, validate and manage business requirements
Support the creation of robust and compelling project proposals and business cases to meet desired business outcomes
Work closely with end users and technology providers to develop logical and innovative solution designs to address requirements captured
Analyse, validate and document existing business processes and map functional and non-functional requirements onto the to-be process model in order to demonstrate the impact of change
Evaluate potential solutions against requirements-based criteria
Facilitate user acceptance testing of system changes and support I.T. projects through to successful delivery, implementation and operation against pre-determined acceptance criteria
Understand and plan for the impact of business change
Ensure that all business facing documents are created and in place to sustain the use of the new business system
Facilitate planning for benefits realization

Candidate requirements:

Educated to degree level preferable or equivalent.
Experience working in a business analysis role, preferably in a retail environment or consultancy organisation
Proficient in information capture techniques (e.g. facilitated workshops, structured interviews, observation, and statistical analysis).
Familiar with stakeholder management techniques.
Awareness of business process improvement techniques (e.g. value added assessment).
Proficient in the verbal and written articulation of functional and non-functional requirements
Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively and empathetically with cross functional teams.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all levels of the organisation.
An open, flexible approach to problem solving.
Good presentation skills.
Demonstrable experience / training in analysis and design methodologies (e.g. BCS certification in BA Practice and / or Requirements Engineering or equivalent)
Experience and exposure to mainstream Retail Applications (e.g. EPOS, ERP, WMS, Kiosks, Payment Processing)
A structured approach to analysis and adherence to project management and service delivery standards (e.g. Prince2, ITIL)
Ability to build a strong internal and external resource network
Demonstrable knowledge of and experience working with project management principles, e.g. RAID logs, Project plans and budgets
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
