Our client, a housing association, is currently recruiting for an Income Manager. Their income management team manages rent accounts for their c8,000 general rented tenancies. 

Reporting to the Senior Income Manager, you’ll manage the income team to ensure that new and low level rent debt is tackled immediately. Your goal will be to manage accounts to zero or credit balances as quickly as possible and avoid them being referred to the debt enforcement team for more serious action, including eviction. Ensuring the provision of effective welfare advice and support on debt, budgeting and money management are key to your team’s success.

You’ll also identify and implement ways to prevent rent debt, for example through the clean set up of new tenancies and working with residents to help them be prepared for Universal Credit. 

To be successful in the role you will at least two years’ recent experience of rent account management and staff management, ideally in a housing association setting. Sound knowledge of legislation and best practice of housing association rent account management, welfare reform and financial inclusion is essential as is the ability to manage budgets and strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills. Excellent IT are required for this post, including being fully competent in Microsoft Office applications.

Due to the nature of this role a valid UK driving licence is essential.
