Science Teacher General

Uteach present an excellent opportunity for a teacher of Science to join a high achieving and inspirational academy. The school is located in the beautiful county of Essex. The role commences in October 2014 until July 2015 with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The school is spread over a magnificent 35 acre site making the most of its fantastic facilities which include an impressive sports field and music and drama department and there is an extensive variety of exciting extracurricular activities in place. There are 1000 pupils of mixed gender, between the ages of 11-18 of which 150 are enrolled in sixth form.

The school's most recent Ofsted was in June 2014. It was awarded an overall grade 3 but received grade 2 'Good' in pupils' behaviour and school leadership. The head teacher provides strong leadership and has won the confidence of students. The academy has inherited an experienced teaching staff and the school is well supported by the school governors and local authority. Students' behaviour is good and students treat one another with consideration and respect. They are proud of the school's heritage and the distinct opportunities it offers. Ofsted have confirmed that effective learning is supported by skillful questioning and sharply focused marking which extends students and enables them to develop and build on what they already know and can do.

There are great local transport links to the area and London Stansted airport is less than 10 miles from the school.
