An Ofsted rated "Outstanding" technology school located in Essex is seeking a full-time Teacher of Physics to join its extremely forward-thinking and motivated department. In 2013, the Mathematics results at Key Stage 4 and 5 were significantly above the National Average.

The role begins in January 2015 and is a permanent contract. The school is larger than average-sized and has approximately 1900 mixed gender students ranging from 11 to 19 years old on its roll.

The school received a Grade 1 "Outstanding," rating in its 2013 Ofsted inspection across all areas. The report observed that students reach well above-average standards and make excellent progress because teaching is outstanding at all stages throughout the college. Students' behaviour is outstanding and their attitudes to work and learning are exemplary. Additionally, students say they enjoy college immensely, and have excellent social skills that prepare them extremely well for life when they leave college. Students feel safe in college. They say that bullying is unheard of, but, if it should happen, that they and staff would deal with it swiftly and effectively.

The school has access to excellent transport links: there are two train stations less than two miles away from the grounds and several bus stops in the surrounding area. Central Colchester is less than 50 minutes away by public transport and grants access to a wealth of culture and social activities. There are also shops near the school and a beautiful seaside pier can be reached by bus in 12 minutes.

To be eligible to apply for this position, you are required to be a qualified teacher or a teacher who is qualifying before January 2015.
