The Role:

• Contract role till August 2015
• Project Management: The main responsibility of the position is to plan cabling and equipment installation tasks at the customer sites in conjunction with the Project Manager (PSM) to ensure full functionality according to the specification of the project. The person will assist the PSM to co-ordinate the site meetings throughout the life of the project, in order to ensure that the project milestones are met through to conclusion. The person will also co-manage all resources including suppliers throughout the project.
• Budgetary Control: The Assistant Project Services Manager will support the PSM in controlling the budget of the project based on the information provided to them, scope of work or adhoc work request.
• Liaison with Customers: The person will always need to work in a professional and courteous manner, liaising with the customer and their representatives to ensure open communication channels in both directions, meeting the customer’s needs and following issues through to conclusion, keeping the customer informed at all times in providing excellent customer service.
• Resources: The PSM will allocate the project work for which the Assistant Project Services Manager will be responsible for planning. The tasks will then involve planning, allocating and controlling the project resources this could be in the form of specialist equipment, sub-contractors, suppliers etc.

What the company is looking for in the successful candidate:

• The applicant should be a qualified to Prince 2 level or similar project management qualification or possess equivalent project management experience.
• Ideally possess experience in IT rollout project management.
• Possess experience of managing 3rd party sub-contractors.
• The person needs to be able demonstrate strong planning and organisational ability.
• The Assistant Project Services Manager needs to help and support the engineers. It is essential that any candidate should have the right attitude and communication skills, to deal with people on a daily basis.
• The successful candidate will be flexible, and be available for work during all designated hours to meet the needs of the customer.
