As a Support Worker you will support people with mental health problems in a non clinical environment for 3 days offering a safe space or sanctuary when a hospital admission is neither wanted or needed.
As Support Worker, your role will see you:
- Empowering service users in their personal recovery to move forward in their lives
- Addressing their practical and emotional needs, enabling them to grow in social confidence
- Providing a service that works in partnership with other services and which promotes well-being and recovery of the individual
- Carrying out in-depth assessments of service users’ needs and risks and developing individually-tailored support plans accordingly
- Assess and write risk management plans
- Professionally representing and promoting the service.

- A track record in Mental Health or related field
- Ability to work with people in crisis
- Experience of supporting, empowering and engaging service users in a range of developmental, rehabilitative and community activities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage your own workload
- Experience of using IT and the proven ability to maintain up-to-date records and systems
- Good partnership working skills
- Capacity to work flexible hours within an agreed framework (24hr/7day week shift rota)
- A full driving licence and access to own transport.
