Additional Information
Housing associations own 2.7m homes with a turnover of almost £15 billion and are operating in an increasingly commercial and complex environment. This means we are regulating a sector in transition, in a market that is increasingly in the public spotlight. Working here provides a great insight into the wide range of business models across the sector, into what good governance looks like and, sometimes, how businesses go wrong. If you can get to the heart of issues quickly, spot weaknesses where they exist, and have the confidence and grip to make the right judgements, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
As Senior Financial Analyst you will report to an Assistant Director of Regulatory Operations and will lead a team of financial analysis team members.
This is a high profile leadership role that requires a CCAB qualified individual with solid business analytical skills, as well as initiative and lateral thinking to identify and resolve potential issues. This post will be central to our changing operational approach and an exciting opportunity to expand your experience in analysing business viability and understanding complex organisational and funding structures. It is an ideal role for anyone that enjoys challenging and thought provoking work, with a strong desire to learn and progress. A tailored personal development plan and range of training opportunities will be available.
Senior Financial Analysts will play an integral role in driving forward our regulation through leading and scoping our work involving a multi-disciplinary team, whilst providing capacity to analyse and interpret increasing complexity in the business and funding models we regulate. The need to communicate at a senior level across a broad range of stakeholders, as well as to provide analytical thought leadership and creativity, offers motivated individuals a unique opportunity to impact directly on the quality and effectiveness of regulation.
The location for these roles is flexible and you will be based in a HCA office in London, Leeds or Manchester. The role offers the opportunity to work flexibly as well as an excellent pension and 33 days annual leave per year. The HCA is also committed to the development of staff which includes support for professional qualifications where relevant to your role.
Please note: The HCA along with other Government departments and Government sponsored bodies have been tasked with reducing running costs. The HCA are bound by the Government’s asset strategy which means that we must continually review and make more effective use of our offices. Although the post can be based in Leeds, Manchester or London its location may be subject to change and we cannot guarantee that staff will not be required to move base location in the future.
Closing Date: Monday 10 November 2014
The interviews for this post will take place between Monday 24 November and Friday 12 December.
