Due to continued expansion our client, a market leader in the financial industry, is seeking experienced Secured Loan Advisor/Processor/Underwriter to compliment their growing team

 

You will have a clear mandate to underwrite loans and be taught the necessary skills to perform this role by experienced staff.

 

You will be responsible for underwriting the existing flow of loans, increasing the broker panel and growing the volume of loans.

 

You will also be expected to supervise the loan processor and to report to the board on underwriting cases. The role will also involve recruiting new members of the underwriting team, when appropriate and will adapt to a Head of Underwriting role as your experience and knowledge increases.

 

You should have numeracy skills and an eye for detail. You should also be self motivated, keen to work in an entrepreneurial environment and open to accommodating new loan products in the future. You should be confident to represent the company by yourself and establish new business relationships.
You should have strong numeracy skills, ideally with a business / finance related degree.

 

Main Duties:

 

An ability to adopt a pragmatic approach to underwriting mortgage applications within an approved lending mandate.

 

To understand and analyse key items such as credit searches, bank statements, financial accounts, property valuations and business appraisals in order to make informed lending decisions.

 

To deliver high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in data input and all written communication produced and deliver to board of directors.

 

Able to develop a rationale for those cases outside of own lending mandate or company lending policy

 

To build successful working relationships with external contacts

 

To effectively manage a large pipeline of cases through to completion, ensuring both company service standards and the lending policy is complied with throughout.

 

Work effectively with the team of administrators, credit risk and finance teams toensure all lending requirements are satisfied prior to release of funds

 

To embrace the principles of treating customers fairly and responsible lending

 

Requirements:

 

An excellent understanding of the mortgage sector.

 

Computer literate (good knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel, Word, Power-Point)

 

Good knowledge of compliance procedures within the mortgage industry.

 

Analytical and pragmatic approach.

 

Degree in business or finance (min. 2.1) is desired
