Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced marketer with copywriting and project management skills to develop content and manage Blurb’s self-publishing marketing projects and campaigns. The candidate will be required to build relationships with industry experts, writers, and self-publishing influencers, create compelling content that reflects a deep understanding of the industry, and manage a multi-channel end-to-end marketing program across a key market segment and two geographies. Candidate will need to work closely with the designers on the creative team to develop compelling content for the company web site, email communications, direct mail, performance marketing, affiliate marketing, and events.
Role
As Campaign Manager, you will have personal responsibility for helping to build the Blurb brand in the self-publishing industry through campaigns and programs targeted to this specific market segment. You must have experience in marketing (in both print and digital media), content marketing, copywriting, publishing, and project management.
Ensuring that the needs of the UK & US teams are equally met is essential, and engaging your colleagues in other disciplines will be a key part of this role. Additionally, a serious aptitude for juggling competing priorities and responding quickly to a changing market is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively across disciplines
- Act as lead copywriter for the self-publishing segment and function as editor for colleagues’ work
- Manage and deliver Blurb’s key content marketing campaigns for the self-publishing segment
- Maintain brand voice across Blurb marketing content as well as messaging delivered through partners
- Ensure all delivery timelines are met, as well as metrics associated with timelines
- Deliver inbound marketing campaigns that deliver sales results against targets
- Support events team with development of collateral, signage, and promotional assets
Essential skills:
- Ability to write concise, persuasive, informative copy within the Blurb brand voice
- Ability to engage and work collaboratively across disciplines
- Ability to plan and execute campaigns across a variety of channels
- Clear understanding and enjoyment of marketing as a sales driving activity
- Ability to work with and manage outside vendors and suppliers ensuring excellent and cost-effective working relationships
- Exemplary written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Extensive understanding of brand management and the process of brand building
- Understanding of complex business-to-business sales processes and how marketing is best able to support through to customer loyalty
Desirable skills:
- Understanding of marketing technology, with experience of go-to-market programs for technology products (e.g. Email Service Providers (ESPs), Google Analytics, etc.)
- Experience with project management software, specifically JIRA
Education:
- Undergraduate degree (Journalism, Marketing, Publishing, Advertising or related discipline preferred)
