Teacher required for the teaching of Literacy and Lumeracy:

This school has asked Randstad Education to support their recruitment of a candidate for this role. We are the UKs market leading education recruiter with almost 20 years of experience in matching teachers and support staff to schools.

The Job
1-2-1 tuition with a student at Foundation Level
The young person is 10 years old, primary phase- key stage 2 (Y6).
We would require someone with experience of Early Years Foundation Stage ? play based learning and phonics work.
Staff would need to be prepared to meet with the manager of the home in a semi-formal interview situation to ensure they are a ?good? match for this complex child. If appropriate they would meet with and work initially alongside the child?s key worker to support a good transition in terms of building a relationship with the child and enabling them to access learning
This will initially be for 4 weeks starting ASAP
They need to be able to engage the young person and be able to build his confidence and self-esteem in all areas as he struggles to engage.

The work will be based from the childs care home



The Child
experienced in working with children with high anxieties in relation to (formal learning).
This young person is of much lower ability educationally, socially and emotionally.
This child can display extremely challenging, emotional behaviour when he feels he?s unable to cope with the learning.
This young person prefers to be involved in active tasks, particularly enjoys being outside


As a Teacher you should Be able to:


maintain firm boundaries in a calm non-threatening manner;
work to develop positive relationships;
understand the value of a key person in relation to developing
positive attachments and agree to develop their own knowledge and practice in relation to this;
break learning into manageable tasks;
give positive and constructive feedback to the child;
be consistent and explicit in behaviours;
work alongside the school to aid transition from placement to time back in the school
follow school guidelines and expectations to ensure consistency across all provision
