Our client is an industry leading brand operating within the home entertainment sector.

Due to consistent growth they are looking for a DC Operations Manager to join their fantastic logistics team in Basingstoke. Reporting into the Senior Logistics Manager you will lead and manage the day to day operations of the DC to ensure all SLA's and operational KPI's are met in a cost effective, commercially focused and safe way.

Key Responsibilities - DC Operations Manager

- Controlling management of the DC to achieve defined targets and strategic objectives

- Making key decisions on daily priorities, resource allocation, contract review and negotiation

- Constantly reviewing business practices to ensure customer orders are met in the most efficient manner taking into account budget, resources, quality and the changing needs of the business

- Prescribing and reviewing KPI's to imbed a culture of continuous improvement and performance management

- Using KPI's to determine and focus on areas of weakness and investigating resolution

- Preparing and managing financial budgets and feeding back to Senior Logistics Manager

- Liaising with suppliers, negotiating contracts and using commercial awareness to make recommendations for innovations in the workplace

- Responsible for inventory control and warehouse management system.

- Managing 3rd Party DC (Drop Ship) vendors logistics relationship and fulfilment.

- Coaching and mentoring direct reports to aid development and facilitate the DC's scope for growth

- Constantly liaising with logistics partners to keep abreast of ever evolving customer needs and adapting operations accordingly

- Ensuring that all information is communicated in a manner that achieves alignment and shared purpose throughout the DC

The successful candidate will bring extensive logistics experience to the role and will have a full understanding of all areas of DC and how they interact. Warehouse Management system experience would be advantageous as would any knowledge of AS400 although this is not essential. Our DC Operations Manager will be forward thinking and innovative, skilled in performance management of the team and will be self driven and visionary in terms of approach to the role. This will be a hands on role and our DC Operations Manager will spend a good 90% of their time driving the business to impact on bottom line. You will be accountable for a £19 million budget along with fulfilment accountability to on line and store orders.
