As a Floating Support Worker within the Support Alliance Consortium/Partnership across North Somerset, you will support people with mental health problems in their own homes. You’ll provide them with all the emotional and practical assistance they need, enabling them to live independently in the community.

As a Floating Support Worker, your role will include:

  • Managing your own caseload of service users
  • Advising on tenancy issues, welfare benefits, financial and budgeting matters
  • Supporting service users in the development of personal and life skills, including community involvement
  • Ensuring they are receiving all the benefits they’re entitled to
  • Developing personal support plans with service users, taking into account their full range of needs
  • Making sure clients are referred to appropriate agencies for advice and counselling.

  • A track record in Mental Health or related field
  • Experience of supporting, empowering and engaging service users in a range of developmental, rehabilitative and community activities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage your own workload
  • Admin know-how, with the proven ability to maintain up-to-date records and systems
  • Able to competently use IT systems.
  • Able to travel around a wide geographical area.
  • Good partnership working skills
  • Capacity to work flexible hours within an agreed framework.
