Our client is the leading supplier of dry ice in the UK and specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of products to provide fun smoke effects to schools, the food and drink industry, and private customers. They are committed to giving the very best customer service and next day delivery.

Established for 3 years, they have seen steady growth to achieve a stable and diverse client base, and expect growth to continue with existing and new product lines.

This is a critical role accurately fulfilling orders and ensuring they meet strict deadlines for courier collection to meet customer expectations of next day delivery. As a small business, the right person must be a real team player willing to cover a variety of tasks. There is real scope for growth as the business develops.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accurate, efficient picking and packing of orders to meet courier collection deadlines
- Develop accurate stock control systems - managing stock of product and packing materials to ensure orders can be fulfilled on time
- Represent the company in a professional, responsible manner, maintaining and improving reputation with customers, colleagues and the local community
- Adhere to all health, safety and security policies and procedures

Duties:

- Monitor incoming orders and plan daily order fulfilment
- Pack goods with protective materials, label for dispatch
- Maintain accurate records
- Work to improve warehouse processes to increase efficiencies, reduce waste, improve quality
- Maintain standards of warehouse housekeeping and hygiene at all times
- Improve safety standards, encouraging colleagues to recognise and use safe working practices
- Ensure all equipment is operated correctly
- Receive and check deliveries, correctly store and rotate materials

Requirements:

- Ability to carry out repetitive tasks quickly and carefully
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with customers, colleagues and suppliers
- A team player with a flexible and proactive approach; willing to fulfil any additional duties and requirements necessary to meet Company objectives
- Attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Reading, writing, numerical skills
- Self-motivated, self-disciplined, energetic
- Able to work without constant supervision and direction
- Reasonable fitness levels for manual handling - items are not necessarily heavy but repetitive lifting and carrying is involved

Beneficial Experience:

- Supervisory experience - potential opportunity to supervise temporary staff during peak periods
- Experience of stock control systems
- Warehouse experience
- Forklift truck license an advantage but not essential

Other info:

- 25 hrs per week; 10am-3pm, Mon-Fri (there is potential to increase hours over time if mutually agreed)
- Some flexibility is required to work additional hours during busy periods
- Ability to start before 31st October is an advantage but not essential
- Own transport is useful as local public transport is infrequent
