The place – Located in the vibrant waterfront city of Plymouth, our environmentally friendly offices provide a great setting for the Service Desk Analyst to work. Hundreds of miles of stunning coastline and 368 squares miles of Dartmoor National Park are within easy reach.

The organisation – Land Registry is a government agency created in 1862 to register the ownership of land and property in England and Wales.  Our vision is ‘to be recognised as a world leader in the digital delivery of land registration services and in the management and reuse of land and property data’.

The job – As a Service Desk Analyst you will be part of a team responsible for providing IT support to internal and external users; supplying technical assistance or advice as required when resolving or managing incidents, recording all actions in the service management tool. This is a telephony based IT role with a high degree of autonomy and a strong focus on user satisfaction and meeting agreed service level agreements (SLAs). The successful Service Desk Analyst will be rewarded with the opportunity to take a hands-on approach to problem solving and to make a real difference in the overall success of the business. As Land Registry implements its business strategy it is an exciting time and Service Desk activity continues to expand through new and existing service arrangements.  You will provide early life support as new services are transitioned into the established support model and will enjoy the pace and unpredictability of a challenging, pro-active, reactive and customer facing position.

Your approach to the role of Service Desk Analyst will involve a combination of analysis, understanding of IT issues, the ability to resolve problems, and a desire to lead, when required, within the service desk team.

Service Desk personnel currently operate a limited flexible working pattern, covering 4 rotations (06.45 to 18.00), Monday to Friday, where rotation changeovers take place mid-week. There is a requirement to provide occasional weekend cover, currently worked as overtime.

The Requirements - In order to be successful in this role the Service Desk Analyst must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience;

- An understanding of IT infrastructure.

- Experience of successfully interacting with all levels of users/customers.

- Experience of some Microsoft Windows & Business Applications, in particular desktop software applications

- Experience of contributing positively to the team environment.

Desirable Skills required of the Service Desk Analyst:

- Experience of working in a Service Desk environment and/or use of a service management tool.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 2nd November.

CVs will not be accepted for this position.  Please apply and carefully follow the application guidelines that will be sent to you.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join an organisation with the vision to be recognised as a world leader in the digital delivery of land registration services and in the management and re-use of land and property data.  We are offering a competitive salary and benefits package, with excellent career development opportunities.
