Claims Handler

Due to expansion, our client a legal 500 firm is looking for a tenacious, driven and dedicated Claims Handler reporting to Head of Department and Senior Partners.

Main duties will include:

• Proactively managing a caseload of property damage claims (up to and including reserve limits of £20,000), PL claims (up to and including reserve limits of £20,000) and some low value/simple EL claims (up to and including reserve limits of £10,000) to conclusion.

Additional duties include:

• Create accurate Claims Management System and/or Proclaim records 
• Develop client contacts 
• Attend client review meetings where appropriate 
• To assist with projects 
• Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the Team Leader/Claims Unit Service Manager 

You will have experience in:

• Delivering technically accurate and appropriate advice to clients, colleagues and others
• Demonstrating understanding of client needs/expectations
• Effectively prioritise workload and organise own work effectively
• Adhere to guidelines and procedures
• Possess excellent researching / interpersonal skills and a high attention to detail.

Desirables:

• The evaluation, negotiation and settlement of Public / Employers' Liability claims
• A working knowledge of Proclaim
