Liverpool Hospice (5 In-Patient Unit &1 Day Care)
Marie Curie Hospice, Liverpool is recruiting for six new substantive roles. The main purpose of these roles are to provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group in a palliative care setting and to act in accordance with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct and Marie Curie Cancer Care policies and procedures.
We operate a successful system of Key Nursing giving you the opportunity to really get to know your patients, their families and provide exceptional quality, individualised care.
In order to join our team we require you to be enthusiastic, committed and motivated and ideally have at least six months’ post registration experience with preference given to those experienced with end of life patients. You will be highly motivated and energised, be an excellent communicator and work well both individually and within a team.
Successful candidates will join a supportive and forward thinking team and have access to staff development and educational opportunities including Clinical Supervision. We have an in-house Practice Educator and offer a number of face-to-face training opportunities as well as our own Interactive Online Learning System. We encourage our staff to continuously develop and have a national system of bursary funding which may be able to support you with on-going studies. The successful candidates will be offered two weeks of supernumerary status followed by a 6 month induction process.
The hospice provides 30 In-Patient beds across 2 wards and Outpatients/Day Care services operate Monday to Friday. Both services offer care to patients with a wide range of Palliative conditions including diagnosis cancer and non-cancer, this provides a rewarding mixture of end of life care, complex symptom control and specialist rehabilitation.
Continued access to the NHS pension scheme may be available to current members.
Closing date: 16th October 2014.
Interviews will be held on 22nd and 23rd October 2014.
Come and see what we do at our Open Day from 3pm-7pm on 9th October 2014.
