Uteach present an excellent opportunity to teach Art in a newly formed Academy in Leeds. The part-time role of 19.5 hours per week begins in January 2015 and whilst temporary, it has the possibility of becoming permanent.

The school has approximately 1500 mixed gender students aged 11-18 enrolled.

The school received a grade 3 ofsted ranking in March 2012. The inspection team noted that there had been improvements in the students' attainment and in the quality of teaching and leadership and management since the previous inspection. They reported that leaders and managers are clear about and accurate in their understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the school and take appropriate actions to bring about improvements, including for teaching.

The recently appointed Principal noted that, in 2014, 6% more Y11 students received the 'gold standard' of 5 or more good GCSE passes including English and Maths than in 2013

The position provides the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated and passionate team of Creative Arts Teachers who are focussed on delivering outstanding and engaging multimedia Art lessons across all year groups.

The area has excellent transport links, with 5 train stations in the vicinity. For teachers travelling from Ireland, Leeds Bradford International Airport is 25 minutes by car and offers direct flights to Dublin.

There are lots of great activities to choose from in the area. A number of theatres are staging plays, comedy shows, exhibitions and live music events throughout the winter and there are lots of local markets to visit.

To be eligible to apply for this post you are required to be a qualified teacher. The closing date for applications is 5th October.
