A great opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst to work for one of the UK's Top IT Employers'* in a fast growing and high profile data business that delivers critical data services to key clients including the Department for Education, Ofsted & Local Authorities (School Performance Tables/RAISEonline
/National Pupil Database etc).

RM Education is the leading provider of ICT software & services to the education sector and employs over 2000 staff. Based in London and working within our fast growing 'RM Results' data services business, the Senior Data Analyst will take on a broad senior role working closely with customers to ensure a clear understanding of their data requirements, whilst ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality (approximately 75% of time in 'hands-on' analysis and quality assurance of data, with 25% of time liaising with clients to discuss and agree requirements).

The Senior Data Analyst will join a team of 12 Data Analysts that are passionate about helping to support educational policy - from the cleaning, analysis and quality assurance of data, to the provision of Business Intelligence solutions and services which support decision making and ultimately the publication of results. The Senior Data Analyst will identify, document and execute effective means to analyse and quality assure data at various stages from receipt through to final output.

Overall this high profile position represents the chance for an experienced Data Analyst to work on large, complex data projects that underpin education policy and standards. Data Quality is of prime importance to our customers and it is central to all of the products and services which we provide.

The Individual

  • An experienced Senior Data Analyst who has worked with data to produce statistical outputs and quality assured data presented through online systems or as data outputs, which involve complex business rules in their calculation
  • Sound ability to use SQL to interrogate databases and calculate statistical outputs
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, customer handling and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to sense check figures based on an understanding of how data relates to the real world eg identifying, querying and investigating variations in measures from year to year
  • Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities to work in a dynamic environment
  • Education sector or large public sector dataset exposure could be useful but isn't essential
