IT Senior Service Desk Analyst (WAN/Internet connectivity)
An opportunity for an IT Service Desk Analyst/Internet Provisioning Engineer to work for one of the UK's Top IT Employers'* and support the Internet connectivity and WAN based applications provided to over 5000 schools.
RM Education is the leading provider of ICT software & services to schools, employs over 2000 staff and provides Internet/WAN Engineers with excellent technical training in Juniper and CCNA certifications. Based at the Oxfordshire HQ, the Senior Service Desk Analyst will provide SLA-driven 2nd line remote support for WAN solutions, Internet provisioning & related hosted services/Internet applications
The position doesn't offer hands-on server work at this stage (albeit there is good scope to progress technically across the business), but instead affords the troubleshooting of Internet connectivity (including broadband 'back-haul' & local Router support), web based mail & filtering products from RM and 3rd parties, SharePoint based bespoke learning platforms, Video Conferencing, Web hosting and many more services.
This is a role that combines technical and customer focus skills in a very rewarding environment. If you're an IT Service Desk Analyst that is a great communicator with a proactive attitude, enjoy problem solving and get a real buzz out of supporting customers, then this is the role for you.
The Individual
- Must have previous 2nd line IT service desk support including some exposure to advanced WAN connectivity and Internet provisioning/troubleshooting, ideally within an SLA and external customer-oriented environment.
- Strong problem solving abilities and excellent communication, customer handling and inter-personal skills.
- Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities. Target focused, proactive and keen to spot opportunities to refine and improve processes and service.
- Prior school ICT support experience and a CCNA is advantageous though not essential.
