Head of Function - Infrastructure & DEVOPS Architecture

To use leadership as well as expert skills and a wide breadth of knowledge to direct diverse capability teams/SME's to define and deliver architecture and solutions across the entire group infrastructure platforms (hardware and software), IT Tooling and DEVOPS architecture (inc. frameworks). To contribute to the development and implementation of Group IT plans in line with the overall strategy of Group IT and the business. The HoF Infrastructure & DEVOPS Architecture will contribute to the success of major transformation programmes by leading all architecture and design activities across their programmes. They develop a balanced perspective of the programme's applied architecture against the requirements of the target enterprise architecture, ensuring all designs provide a working solution at a programme and enterprise level. From a strategic perspective they will be expected to lead the development and implementation of strategies/roadmaps across the domain and contribute towards the broader Divisional and Group architecture strategy.

Accountabilities:

*Extensive experience operating in a senior role within equivalent size and complexity of organisation to Lloyds Banking Group, and its component parts with relevance Infrastructure and tooling.

*Demonstrable experience of leading the initiation of architectures and the solution definitions for different types of projects, with different drivers and different complexities.

*A proven history of successfully initiating and leading solutions and supporting successful delivery of fundamental changes to the infrastructure and enterprise architecture as well as driving innovation.

*Identifies and influences future trends/ requirements in area of expertise (both internally and with external vendors), and contributes to the development of new concepts which form part of total business and vendor solutions.

*Hold excellent stakeholder management skill and the ability to lead the development and communication to senior business stakeholders (inc. Board level)

*Demonstrable experience of working in an integrated, matrix-managed teams including Change, Analysis, Design and Delivery professionals to create integrated proposals and solutions that stakeholders understand and accept.

*Responsible for translating the Business strategy and principles into an IT strategy and architecture, and identifying and developing the necessary roadmaps required to achieve that strategy, working with the relevant Enterprise and Domain architects.

*Manage senior business stakeholders to secure strong engagement for EAD services and project solutions and ensure that the delivery of the project aligns to longer term strategic roadmaps for the business and Group IT.

*Leads, motivates, develops and appraises direct reports and their teams so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business and Group IT.

*Accountable for the integrity and consistent implementation of key human resource processes across the team, including recruitment, career development, succession planning, salary review, resourcing approach and performance reviews.

*Identify architecture options and synergies across the domains as well as broader landscape for common components in architecture and design.

*Ensure programmes are set up for success in terms of key architecture metrics such as Solution Architect capability, cost, time, doability, compliance, risk, complexity and resource availability.

*Ensure and approve fit for purpose architecture deliverables.

*Manage key stakeholders (Business and Group IT) in relation to delivery proposals, risks and issues.

Key Capabilities / Knowledge:

*Ability to operate effectively with senior stakeholders and suppliers both internal and external.

*Ability to manage production of deliverables avoiding reputational risk and any detrimental impact to colleague or customer service.

*Has a full understanding of Enterprise and Solution Architectures across core infrastructure platforms, tooling and DEVOPS.

*Able to define the medium to long term approach to balance demand and supply for EAD and broader Group IT services.

*Ability to lead architecture services on large investment portfolios on large programmes.

*Ability to establish and set strategic direction for relevant architecture domain.

*Ability to influence both business and technology stakeholders and advise on execution approaches.

*Act as a design authority for programmes and regarded as a subject matter expert in their field.

*Ability to work at an abstract level and diagnose strategic business and technology issues whilst reflecting and communicating ambiguity in simple terms.
