Mechanical Design Engineer

This highly specialised contractor and manufacturer of over water drilling rigs, are part of a global organisation that works in the marine construction, geotechnical and Oil & gas industries.

Due to growth and succession, this highly regarded client are looking to recruit a capable and experienced senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a new role, working alongside the current engineering team, with a focus on being a principal engineer in the short term and a leader/manager of the department as it grows and as capability is developed.

You will need to have contemporary experience and be a real authority on all aspects of mechanical design. The products engineered and manufactured are best compared to heavy plant incorporating hydraulics, electronics and control systems. So someone from cranes, gantry's or the design and engineering of manufacturing and or heavy plant would be best.

Candidates can come from any industry, but heavy plant, Subsea, drilling or marine construction would be preferential.
