An exciting opportunity has arisen within our client's Northern Commercial Team for an Area Commercial Manager, to identify and win new business opportunities for large customer accounts by completing all Total Waste Management, Commercial and smaller Local Authority tenders, they will also be required to develop relationships with brokers and key customers across the Region.
Our client is looking for a talented, experienced bid writer with experience in waste and recycling sales. A strong knowledge of waste industry legislation and recycling processes is essential to the role.
The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level or equivalent and hold a recognised waste industry qualification.
A Full Driving Licence is necessary for the role.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Completing relevant tenders and bids winning profitable business for the business.
- Developing strong relationships with national brokers, customers and sub-contractors.
- Identifying areas for potential business development and liaise with the Regional Commercial Manager to create a strategy to target customers accordingly.
- Providing routine and ad-hoc statistical information on request to the Regional Commercial Manager including month end reports.
- Identifying potential recycling award, case study and sponsorship opportunities from existing customers.
- Acquire high volume, high profit new business opportunities for the Northern Region Area.
- Assisting and organising the management of day to day activities with the respective depots.
Skills/Experience:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience working within the waste and recycling industry.
- Involvement in completing tenders or compiling bids and winning them.
- A Full Driving Licence is essential to the role.
