Senior Ruby Developer

Ruby Developer, London (Ruby, Rails, Python)

Entrepreneurial well-funded start-up is looking for a full stack developer with strong Ruby or Python skills. Basically, they are looking for what I would call a 'proper' developer - someone who is probably pretty language agnostic and can turn their hand fairly swiftly because they just 'get it.' If this is you then you probably started developing at a young age and have most likely done a Computer Science degree at a good university. The senior management team are predominantly Oxbridge educated so you can see where we are coming from.

Their service is built on Ruby on Rails, but what's important is that you have a good grounding in computer science and web development, along with an eagerness to learn. We strongly believe in TDD and we deploy code regularly.
You'll be joining a small, fluid development team and you'll have the opportunity to really shape the product as you work on it. We think you'll be a particularly good fit if you're excited by technology entrepreneurship and the startup world.

You will need:

Experience with Ruby, Python or a similar language Professional experience with a web framework like Ruby on Rails, Django, Sinatra or similar Front-end programming skills using JavaScript frameworks (JQuery / Ember / Backbone). Knowledge of TDD and agile methodologies using RSpec, Cucumber Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL Linux server administration experience Deployment knowledge using GitHub, Capistrano, Team City or similar
