Data Migration Analyst

Fixed Term Contract - 1 Year

Full Time - 37 hours per week

Salary - GBP22,443 - GBP28,922

Location - County Hall, Chelmsford

Essex County Council is undergoing the largest transformation programme of its kind in the UK and technology is recognised as being strategically critical to this innovative and radical transformation. Information Services (IS) is at the forefront of delivering this technological change.

We are now embarking on an exciting project to implement a new Social Care system across both Adults' and Children's social care. It will involve a rollout to several thousand employees and pave the way for integrating with partners; for delivering the Care Bill and providing a seamless service to our service users. We will shortly be in a position to start working with our system provider and over the course of about 18 months, will transform social care case management in Essex.

An exciting and challenging role to work as part of the team migrating multiple, existing Social Care systems to a new solution. The successful candidate will work with business area experts, business analysts, the new system vendor and the migration development team, to provide detailed and accurate analysis of all our Social Care data assets and the business rules surrounding them.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server 2005 or higher
  • Experience in a Data Analyst or Business Analyst role
  • Excellent Microsoft Office/PC skills, including a strong working knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups)
  • Highly organised and results oriented
  • Impeccable attention to detail, with passion for processes and systems
  • The ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of Business Objects 6+ would be an advantage
