.Net Development Manager, C#, MVC, Hands on, London

.NET Development Manager, Hands-on required by leading Film Entertainment brand, based in Central London.


The company are a very well known Film Studios - big in the US, with a growing development team in the UK. Most of the production work takes place in their California offices, with most of the IT, in fact pretty much all of their IT development function being run from the London office. They currently have 1 Head of Development, 7 perm .net developers, a small contract resource team and a further 3 Applicaton Support/Developer type's in the division.


The work for the current Development Manager has become too much and they're looking to move his role into a much more strategic post relilnquishing all of his hands on responsibility, including Team and Project Management. They are now looking for a hands-on leader to fill his shoes and take responsibility for the Development team and the concurrent projects they are working on.


It's a fantastic opportunity to get yourself into a very interesting industry and working on a wide array of different projects. Yes, your role is management, but it's still very much hands-on and we'd hope this ratio of management/coding will excite the right person. The team you'll be looking after are all very talented in their own rights, so it should be a fairly simple Man-Management role.


Tech is key to this team. They use the very latest/up to date tech including C#, MVC5, SQL Server. Most of the developers there are pretty much full stack so are confident with Back/Middle and front-end development utilising other tech such as AngularJS and similar JavaScript frameworks and libraries. We'd hope you'd have an appreciation of each of the three tiers so that you're able to keep track on all projects.
