Job Title: Junior Copywriter / Marketer

Core Job Description: Working in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the editorial and sales teams in the production and maintenance of a number of globally-distributed print magazines, online publications and websites.

Reporting to: Editor and senior management team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following editorial briefs and working closely with colleagues in-house and clients from around the world to research and develop high quality news and feature copy, blog posts and social media content
  • Developing, producing and implementing effective online and email marketing materials and campaigns that will help us to grow our online presence, increase our subscriber base and publicise our regular publications and awards
  • The daily updating of one of our flagship websites, using our bespoke CMS. The role will also involve supporting our web and social media specialists in growing the site, following a large-scale redesign and re-launch

Additional Responsibilities

  • Aiding in the design and distribution of awards trophies, logos and certificates
  • Telephone or face-to-face interviews
  • Sourcing imagery
  • Light admin
  • Monitoring web stats and traffic to help better determine how to grow and improve websites and marketing materials
  • Producing press releases
  • Writing regular reports updating management teams on overall progress toward long term objectives and completion of shorter term projects

Person Spec

This job would suit someone from either a marketing or journalism background. Excellent writing and proofreading skills are essential, as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently to tight deadlines. The position will also involve dealing with paying clients on a regular basis, so great people skills are an absolute must.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability and willingness to work as part of a team. The role will sometimes include picking up or covering colleagues’ work so it is vital that the successful applicant is keen to learn more about the business and everybody’s role in it. The odd late finish or early start is also not out of the question.
