Our client is a highly successful organisation within the building and plumbing merchants industry. Trading from over 400 locations nationwide, they employ approximately 5,000 staff and have a turnover in excess of £1bn. Their businesses or ‘brands’ are leading merchants and specialists in their own fields.
One of these brands supplies high quality heating, plumbing, bathrooms, showers, renewables and boiler spares to professional trade installers through a network of 200 stores nationwide and online.
They are now looking for a passionate and motivated Counter Sales Person to join them at their branch in Stockwell.
Sales people are our client’s business generators. They are also the face and voice of our client’s vision and values, doing their utmost to exceed what customers expect. Whilst you’ll be focused on giving knowledgeable advice and helpful service, you’ll also have your eye fixed firmly on the business, branch sales and profit targets, and key performance indicators. That means you’ll have to know how to maximise sales opportunities but also keep the customer coming back for more, making our client their preferred supplier.
You’ll need to have excellent listening and presentation skills, ability to understand customer needs and the initiative to find sales solutions to them. You’ll also have flair for building relationships, keeping customer records and sales admin up to date, and knowing your products inside out. Confidence and communication skills are also essential.
Flexibility is an important part of this role as you may be asked to work in any area of the branch as required such as the Yard or Warehouse.
