Scottish Autism have an exciting opportunity for Autism Support Workers to join Fife and Tayside Area Services, Dundee. They are offering a competitive salary of £14,671 - £15,392 per annum (pro rata for part time) or £7.63 per hour for casuals.

Scottish autism seeks to promote and provide care, education, support and opportunities for individuals with autism of all ages throughout Scotland.

Fife and Tayside Area Services provide a range of residential, housing support, outreach and day services, ensuring service users receive the physical, practical and emotional support to meet their needs. At all levels we require Autism Support Workers to develop skills, identify difficulties and access community activities, taking on every challenge with enthusiasm and energy. 

As one of our Autism Support Workers you will be an integral member of the support team contributing to and ensuring a high quality of care and support for individuals on the Autism Spectrum and/ or with complex needs. Support will be provided on a needs assessed basis and will reflect the ethos of promoting independence and personal choice ensuring service users receive the physical, practical and emotional support to meet their needs.

Suitable Autism Support Workers will be willing to work towards attaining a relevant qualification for this position. Previous experience of working in a relevant field is desirable, however not essential.  You will have good interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Some practical experience using Microsoft software packages such as word and excel would also be beneficial to this role.

The preferred candidates for the Autism Support Workers roles will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check and will be required to register with the SSSC.
